An Army sergeant (Samual Jackson) takes six of his special troops on a training mission into the rain-soaked Colombian jungles and only two come out alive. When the rescue mission arrives, they see one soldier (Brian Van Holt) killing another and carrying a wounded comrade (Giovanni Ribisi). As the interrogation begins, the soldier refuses to talk to anyone other than another Ranger. The investigating officer (Connie Nielsen) protests, but her commanding officer (Timothy Daly) nonetheless brings in a former Ranger and current DEA agent (John Travolta) to help. The agent is currently on suspension from DEA for allegedly accepting a bribe. From this point on, the plot continues to twist and turn and offers numerous surprises that keeps the story interesting.
| John Travolta and Samuel L. Together Jackson star in this drama / action / thriller. Sure, it's not as good as when she starred alongside Pulp Fiction, but still offers. This story is basically about a bunch of armymen and their sergeant. (Jackson) on a training mission that goes wrong. People end up dying or dead and the military calls an expert to assist in the investigation (Travolta). The story takes a few unsuspecting of the events you want to see more. Connie Neilson, Giovanni Ribisi, Harry Connick Jr. and rich papers. What makes this great film, however, is final. |
| After making two hit movies from just under Tiernan did this very well flowing, the plot twisted military crime puzzles starring John Travolta (Hardy) as a researcher, who is excavating the truth about a murder of his old friend Western Army (played by Samuel L. Jackson). There are several suspects for the murder and see what many assumed had happened on that day of formation of rain in the jungle. This makes this plot wise and not just very interesting Basic Mystery to finish, although the plot can be twisted little tired the last couple of minutes, as the final question may be too smart for its own good. But that is probably the major failing of this other wise good movie, and then it does not matter much, as some might say the spectators, who saw that coming from miles away. However, Jackson and Travolta do well in the film: Basic and you can easily watch more than once without a feeling of nausea. |
| First .. Not sure about the rules because this is my first time writing a comment but I must say that Norway Einar-Geronimo 's comment was more of truth and hope that anyone who reads it serves. This rate should be delayed to the conclusion that very interesting and mind-bending DivX film Basic was nothing to be taken. In that sense, I would say it is basic and an excellent film: Basic that left me with a headache because of the extremely intricate plot! Or maybe it was the cigs or because it is almost 4 am ... ALLS I know is that the Basic Mystery film was great and so I signed up here to deliver the message of not listening to IL 'Einar because his comments were sighted and worthless. I would find some place where the plot is actually explained that some friends and I have been around the batting ideas with us for almost two hours. The film: Basic has twists that will keep on twisting and just when you think it has been around .. turn a bit more! Now, when you (the reader), see this DVD movie Basic .. pay close attention to everything! It is probably best to see it with many people .. and then talk about it and then see what kind of mess you're in. | This Basic movie goes back to the days of black cinema "rashaman" Reservoir Dogs, etc.. Sometimes there is a lot happening that clouds the basic concept of the Basic movie stories of action from flying. However, the plot will have a loop so that all the way to the finish line. Depending on your taste, can be highly or extremely impressed with the characters in this movie. However, the team of Jackson and Travolta always worth watching |
| Marked by many critics as too predictable, despite trying to be the contrary, BASIC is nevertheless a strong, original and entertaining film. The cast, big names of John Travolta and Samuel L. Jackson unless knowns Connie Nielsen and Taye Diggs, skillfully reveals the mystery surrounding the disappearance of an army sergeant serious injuries during a tour of training. The episode is recounted in many ways by the increased number of witnesses, an interesting method that has worked so well in other films like Courage Under Fire. May all seem confusing at first, but talented director John McTiernan gradually weaves everything together, although perhaps not as easily as an ideally prefer. BASE is not without flaws, but are not as obvious as one might think of the professional evaluation, or even many of the comments on this website. Its originality is welcome at a time when so many films follow the same cookie-cutter formula. |
| This was a good thriller that does not tip his hand too soon. Quite realistic in that things are going. The dialogue was well done, but the pace is too slow. As the plot progressed, I was thinking of going. There was a murder to be solved, but remained around the meander. I can see how there were a lot of material to arrive, but I think the plot would have been better if it moved faster. Jackson and Travolta did well with their duties. Interestingly, Nielsen had a Southern accent of some lines and not others, it was very confusing. |
| I thought the story was excellent. I liked the twists, and many of them. The story is sometimes a little confusing, but if you stick to it, it's worth it to the finals. It is a long movie, but I found that my interest was maintained until the end and beyond. Recently I saw a couple of movies that were 2 + hours and could not wait to order, this is a 1 hour 39min (approx) and made me stay interested all the way to the end. I love to see Travolta and Jackson together, have great chemistry, and you feel like you are great friends in real life. I recommend this Basic film to all Basic Mystery movie buffs / fans. Rent this movie! |

| * Spoilers Here ... Well, all I can say is that the study was a barefaced cheek to release this monstrosity rancio producing movies on a paying public. The ridiculous plot twist number of scenarios very quickly became bored and I got to the stage where I thought I must have been a bad dream, because there is no way I could be sitting in a theater watching this convoluted dogs dinner a movie. James Vanderbilt, the screenwriter, must have the same dizzy Bamboozled writing this guff. And I do not think the rest of you who are out of lightly, either - I'm pointing my finger at all involved here - McTiernan, Travolta, Jackson et al. Cocking experienced filmmakers from all the great style, and everything is there on the big screen to see if, like me, you are stupid enough to pay to see it. Oh, and do not forget to disbelief ending - we're so smart - no, not you! Maybe my brain was scrambled (angry) at that point, but I think they even hinted at some potential sequel action adventure based on the behavior of the elite "section 8 of the team. Now, if the filmmakers really had in mind a sequel maybe everyone should be sectioned because they have to be crazy! Consolidated brain anyone? |
| Man, I can not believe almost overlooked because the major Basic Mystery film critics who panne. Basic is very good and the kind of mystery / suspense story I can not see anywhere near enough. I enjoyed every minute of this movie. And thus could not be surprised at the end. For me, it does not get much better in the department of DVD movie Basic as an entertainment Basic. John Travolta John Travolta does not do better, a wise guy playing better than anyone, and Connie Nielsen offers great performance and a little hot to boot. This DVD film Basic has many plot twists and the pace is fast so try to keep him. I loved it! |
